When Daniel Humm announced that they would be closing Eleven Madison Park for renovation, almost immediately after they were awarded the number one spot on World’s 50 Best Restaurants, you could hear the cries and whimpers from a thousand platinum Amex:es in New York. But not for long, shortly after they announced a summer residency in East Hampton. The restaurant itself is more of a summer NoMad than EMP, it’s not fine dining, but Daniel’s renowned comfort food, perfectly mixed with Will Guidara’s service concept. Best on the menu is the bouillabaisse soup for two, the lobster tempura and the simple salads. It’s refined, it’s seafood of the uttermost quality, and local Long Island produce. And get a table inside, and to keep the check down, their in house beer brewed with Evil Twin goes excellently with the food.
